Rainy River-Rainy Lake 1W1P – Drinking Water Survey

Below is a message from Matthew P. Gouin – Director Koochiching County Environmental Services. The RLPOA reached out to him after a few owners asked what the intent of the survey was. Please reach out if you would like additional information not provided here.

“Thanks for reaching out to me today regarding the drinking water survey that was sent to parcel owners outside of city limits that are located within the Rainy River-Rany Lake Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan area. Attached is a sample of the survey that was mailed. The survey will help us understand resident’s sources of potable water, comments about their potable water quality and quantity and the presence of used or abandoned wells. Results of the surveys will be compiled and will help us to better understand water supply needs within the watershed. Once we have compiled the survey results, we may be able to identify areas of need which could lead to future voluntary cost-share programs and/or funding that may help in the future.”
